Fano Adriano online
The name probably derives from Fano Adriano Fanum Adriani, name already in use at the time of the ancient Romans who lived there as evidenced by the probable remains of a temple situated on the hill of San Marcello. The country is mentioned in official documents for the first time in the mid-fifteenth century. At that time the village was the stronghold of Giacomo Antonio Orsini.

Then his possession passed to Antonello Petrucci, Orsini and Pardo Alarcon y Mendoza. Only in 1806 became an independent municipality. The country, located along the valley of Vomano, has a distinctive medieval buildings and keep some interest. Fano gave birth to Charles Riccioni, one of the most interesting artistic personalities of the Baroque Abruzzo. There was born, also, Don Giuseppe Zilli, journalist, founder of Catholic inspiration, and some magazines for many years director of the weekly "Famiglia Cristiana". In summer many tourists stay in Fano Adriano to enjoy its cool and salubrious climate. In nearby Forest Lawn, from July 29, 2006, every Saturday and Sunday, you can climb the mountain bike through the chair and then get on board the bike along the bike paths of the park. This is the only chairlift in central Italy with which it is possible to trace the bike. In winter you can ski in Prato Selva located at the foot of Monte Corvo. The base of the lifts is at 1400 m altitude. Are running two chairlifts, one of which goes up to 1800 m. Colle Abetone. The slopes are comfortable with gentle slopes and varied, from dawn to dusk and sunny with good snow. Adapted from Wkipedia
