Prati di Tivo is a mountain resort on the slopes of Gran Sasso, in the Municipality of Pietracamela. The name seems to derive from the term reactionary grass meadows that late because of its location at high altitude (1450 m).
It is situated 6 km from downtown and 40 kilometers from Teramo Pietracamela. Plenty of accommodation facilities is the numerous hotels. This is the first facility of its kind made in Italy. All facilities are located at the foot of the northern slope of Corno Piccolo. There is also a cross-country skiing. In summer the location Prati di Tivo offers many possibilities for hiking and climbing with varying degrees of commitment: from simple walks in the woods difficult rock climbing. Through the Valley of the River Arno and field hazards can make a crossing and arrive at Campo Imperatore, and through the saddle-high summit which is reached by taking the road that still left the yard-you can get in the district of the town of Island Gran Sasso.
